First Contact  helps children aged 0-16 who are in need and who are at risk of harm. We offer advice to anybody who may have concerns for their own children or anybody else’s children that they believe are having difficulties, or at risk of harm. Our aim is to promote the safety of children, and to put families in touch with services that can meet their needs and make a positive difference in their lives.

Within the team we have a social worker, Maggie Ward, who works specifically with families experiencing domestic violence and abuse.  Her role is to assess all domestic violence reports and consider what support or assistance may be required. Maggie works on Monday – Thursdays and is happy for people to contact her direct to talk about their experiences and ask for advice and support for themselves and their children.  The help we can offer will depend on your individual situation and the help you and your family need.
