Taking a Strategic Lead

In 1999, Bath and North East Somerset Council transferred its housing stock to Somer Community Housing Trust. Since then, the role of Housing and Supported Living has changed to one of strategic leadership. Through the development of appropriate strategies, we aim to provide a clear vision of how Housing and Supported Living will contribute to the improvement of the social, economic and environmental well-being of all local communities.  With the continuing trend towards partnership working, the range of strategic documents being produced has grown. Where we once had two or three strategic documents outlining our plans for meeting need, we now have a whole range of documents that set out what local needs are, how they will be met and the resources available to do this.
