Revenue funding
support for the Voluntary Youth Sector in 2008/9 will be offered in
2 targeted commissioned service areas. This will be based on key
priorities linked to the new ‘Youth Offer’ in England. This
replaces the over and under £5K application process currently in
place. Further information and application criteria can be
obtained after 1st October 2007 from this Contact
Officer.
There is an
additional source of funding that young people aged 13-19 can
directly apply for, as part of the government Youth Opportunity and
Capital Funds initiative. Young people should apply directly to the

Support for Sport and Active Leisure groups in the form of
revenue and ‘minor capital’ grants are available throughout the
year (subject to budget availability). Applicants wishing to
apply for apply grants under £5,000 should not use the funding
application packs, but should contact Active Leisure for more
advice.
In addition to the grants programme Active Leisure are also
able to provide an advisory and support service for application to
the National Lottery Sports Fund. Early contact is advisable for
projects to be planned and developed within the relevant
criteria.

Arts Development
The Arts Development Service considers applications for
funding to support arts activity and arts
organisations working in B&NES that meet the Council’s
funding criteria and priorities.
Two levels of funding are available
- One-year project funding of up to £3000pa.
Application forms for One-year Arts Development funding are
available from September each year.
- Three-year funding as a Key Strategic Organisation wishing
to enter into a Service Agreement with the Council. Application for
three year funding is now closed until 2008

Bath Communities Partnership
Money is available now (and for the next 2 years until 2007)
from the Regional Development Agency for two priority areas for
regeneration for Bath Communities Partnerships:
- The Black & Minority Ethnic Communities across the City of
Bath.
- The South West Triangle which includes the Twerton Ward, and
parts of the Southdown and Westmoreland Wards.
Funding is provided to support community projects that bring
economic development benefits to one or all the priority areas.
