World Heritage Site Management Plan 2003-2009
What is the Plan?
The Plan is a strategic level document that can be used by
anyone from the local authority to local businesses, community
groups or individual residents. It aims to help
coordinate management of the site to ensure that our
heritage is protected for future generations and works in harmony
with the dynamic modern city of Bath. It also aims to inspire
people to include World Heritage in their work or to start up new
projects to care for, learn about and enjoy the World Heritage
Site.
The Plan contains a description of the site and its
significance, sets out the issues concerning management of the site
and lists objectives and actions to guide our work, and the work of
all those involved in managing the site, over the next few years.
The Plan covers a range of topics including conservation,
planning, education, transport, community life and tourism.
The World Heritage Site Management Plan has been adopted by the
Council and approved by the Department of Culture, Media and
Sport.
