It is important that children learn about
recycling from an early age so that as they grow up recycling
becomes a habit. Bath & North East Somerset council
provide the following services to support schools in teaching
children about waste issues such as recycling, composting and
litter awareness.
Recycling and Waste Activities for
Schools
Bath & North East Somerset Council provides a variety
of activities for schools, including talks, assemblies
and activities. They can also be tailored to meet the specific
needs of particular schools. Different activities are available to
suit primary and secondary schools. Popular activities include
waste audits, green box collages, Rethink Rubbish assemblies,

Recycling and Composting Services for
Schools
Schools must pay to have their refuse and recycling collected
but it is much cheaper to recycle than to put it out for waste
collection. We want to help you to reduce your waste and your
costs, as well as to help provide an important educational message
to your students and staff.
We can also provide schools with free compost bins.
To find out more about what we can offer including collection
costs, please go to
School Recycling and Composting Services.
