Duty Planning Officers
Information about the Duty Rota System
Trimbridge House Planning Reception - Bath
In order to allow planning officers to concentrate on dealing
with planning applications and pre-application proposals that have
been submitted in writing, it has been decided that duty planning
and historic building officers will only be available to meet
customers and agents without an appointment in the Planning
reception at Trimbridge House from 8.30am to 1pm Monday to Friday.
It is anticipated that this will improve the effectiveness and
efficiency of the planning service and will help us to improve
customer service levels in general. The duty rota system is
intended to provide general information to customers and agents
rather than detailed planning advice and officers will therefore
spend a maximum of 15 minutes with each person. Should customers
require more detailed advice they should submit details in writing
in accordance with the Council’s pre-application protocol or
arrange for an appointment with an officer.
There are several ways by which you can still contact us or find
out information. We provide detailed advice regarding all aspects
of the planning service on our website. Should you have a specific
query about an application you can contact the case officer by
using the contact details below and it is possible to arrange an
appointment with them if necessary.
Should you have an enquiry as to whether planning permission is
required it is worth looking first at the
Planning Service website, which gives detailed information
regarding the need for planning permission for various householder
extensions. You can download one of our
Householder Questionnaire forms or contact Council Connect on
01225 394041 who will be pleased to assist.
For other pre-application advice you can write to Planning
Services at Trimbridge House, Trim Street, Bath, BA1 2DP enclosing
details of your proposals or alternatively you can email us on
