The Council is committed to working with the private sector in order to deal with major and/or complex development proposals in an efficient and effective way and also in order to deliver key planning objectives.  

In order to achieve this, a 'Development Team'  - made up of officers from all service areas of the Council - has been set up to provide quick and comprehensive feedback on pre-application proposals.

Through the Development Team, the Council has also introduced a 'Model Delivery Contract' arrangement, which is an informal undertaking between the Council and a developer in order to agree a timetable for delivering a decision on a planning application.

The Development Team and Model Delivery Contract arrangements are co-ordinated by the Major Development Manager.
