From 1st October 2009: Changes to the Town and
Country Planning Act 1990 came into force which allows Local
Planning Authorities to consider Non-material amendments to
permitted planning applications. This needs to be done by
means of a formal application. Because of this these
applications need to go through the validation process to ensure
the Council has all the necessary documentation in order to

Planning Policy
The Planning Policy team is responsible for providing policies
to guide and encourage future development in the district.
The Planning
Policy homepage contains information relating to the
Local Plan, the
Local Development Framework, supplementary planning
documents and other planning policy documents as well as
information relating to national and regional planning policy.
The
Core Strategy is the first of a new generation of
policy documents for Bath & North East Somerset and it will set
out the long-term planning framework for the district.
