CPO and Stopping Up Order Decision Letters from the Secretary
of State
Following the
public inquiry in May 2005 into the Compulsory Purchase and
Highway Stopping Up Orders, made by the Council to ensure there are
no site assembly impediments to the redevelopment of Southgate
proceeding, two decision letters, dated 19th August 2005 advised
that, following consideration of the Inspector’s reports and
recommendations, the Secretary of State for Transport agreed that
both Orders should be were confirmed.

The decision letters explain the scope of the Orders, provides
summaries of the case for the objectors and the
case for the Council, main issues and considerations, the
Inspector’s recommendation and decision, and the Secretary of
