Walk Three: Royal Victoria Park Royal Avenue

Bath's Principal Park, with views of the Royal Crescent

Map and Summary

The park was formed in 1829 and formally opened in 1830. It was named after the 11-year-old Princess Victoria who was visiting Bath at the time. It was the first park to be named after Victoria and was privately run until 1921.

Walk Highlights

Overlooked by the Royal Crescent, its 57 acres were originally laid out as an arboretum, and even today contains a superb collection of trees.

A Tea Room within the pavilion provides refreshments. There is also a bowling green, tennis courts and crazy golf in this area.

Route Information

Why not take the opportunity to combine walks 3 and 4 to take advantage of Bath’s most popular park.
