The Cleaning Service Charter

Bath & North East Somerset Council is committed to providing efficient, effective and courteous services to the public. Building Cleaning seeks to ensure that service provision reflects this commitment consistently for all customers.

Our aim is to:

Performance analysis from Customer Satisfaction Survey, May 2008. 

  • Ensure that our customers are satisfied with the service we provide. (Target 100%).

100% of customers agree that service is satisfactory.

  • Ensure that all service providers are polite and courteous at all times.  (Target 100%).

100% of customers find this to have been the case.

  • Respond to any reported service problems with 24 hours (Target 100%), complaints within 5 working days (100%), and send a full reply to a letter within 15 working days (100%).

Of those who registered a satisfaction rating, 100% of service problems, complaints and letters are responded to within timescales.

  • Seek the views of customers by conducting at least one major survey annually, with others on an ongoing basis, to facilitate continuous service improvement.

Annual Survey distributed to all customer in April / May 2008.  Results and Action Plan published May 2008.  289 Iterative Surveys sent throughout the year to May 2008, confirming 100% overall satisfaction.  

  • Clean to an agreed standard in consultation with our customers and monitor on an ongoing basis, a minimum of every 6 weeks. 

100% of customers express satisfaction with standards, with 1,016 checks undertaken in the last year, equating to 10 per site.  A 25% increase in performance monitoring since 2006.

  • Ensure, by annual review that cleaning chemicals used are the most effective and environmentally friendly available.

With supply contract renewal from 1 June 2008 and with continuous market testing of cleaning materials and equipment, the range we use is the most environmentally sensitive to suit your requirements.
