An initial project was setup to provide external ramped access to
the library, install automatic doors and accommodate Children
Services staff. As the work progressed it became apparent that
significant problems existed in the library ceiling and the
decision was taken to refurbish the library internally. The
Building Consultancy staff worked closely with the Library
(Customer Services) staff to drive this expanded project forward.
The result; an excellent library provision in Radstock, fully
Disability Discrimination Act (DDA) compliant with both the
Council's 'Public Network' computer provision and Children Services
facilities.
