About the Building Contol Service
Building Control is located in Trimbridge House, Bath and is
responsible for providing the following services: -
- Building Regulations
- Control of Dangerous Structures
- Structural Analysis
- Control of Demolition Work
- Means of Escape in Case of Fire
- Safety at Sports Grounds
- Protection of thermal water springs in Bath

Building Control operates alongside other technical services who
deal with the built environment. These services include the Town
Planning, Historic Buildings, Highways and Engineering functions of
Bath & North East Somerset Council.
The close grouping of these services ensures that users benefit
from a reduced number of contact points and ensures that service
delivery is co-ordinated. In addition customers have the
opportunity to utilise a Development Team Approach for advice on
larger building projects
