Dog Warden Service

Why Worm Your Dog?

Because roundworms can affect any dog at any age, causing sickness and diarrhoea in young animals, although adult dogs may show no symptoms.  In rare cases, roundworm larvae can cause eye damage to children.  Worming your dog is easy, effective and costs very little.

What To Do

Adult dogs should be wormed every six months.  Expectant bitches with young puppies should be wormed more frequently, so should puppies before and after they are weaned.  The dose required depends on your dog’s weight.  Follow the manufacturer’s instructions carefully.  If in doubt, always ask your veterinary surgeon for advice.

Where to Obtain Worming Treatments

You can get worming treatments from your chemist, pet shop and, of course, your vet.
