Do I need planning permission?

From 1st October 2008: Changes to permitted development rights

From 6th April 2008, the Standard Planning Application Form (1APP) will become the only official method of submitting a planning application. Applications submitted on old forms after this mandatory deadline set by central government cannot be accepted by the local authority.

From 6th April 2008, a fee will be charged for confirmation of compliance with condition attached to planning permission.

The Planning Policy team is responsible for providing policies to guide and encourage future development in the district.

The Planning Policy homepage contains information relating to the Local Plan, the Local Development Framework, supplementary planning documents and other planning policy documents as well as information relating to national and regional planning policy.

The Core Strategy is the first of a new generation of policy documents for Bath & North East Somerset and it will set out the long-term planning framework for the district.
