Early Years and Extended Services

Early Years and Extended Services.
The training offered will give staff in your setting the
opportunity to make a difference to the outcomes for the children
you work with. An ongoing record of all training attended
will provide evidence for your OfSTED inspection and help plan your
staff training.
When booking can you please check all the information about the
session including the target group so that you are aware what the
session is about and who should be
attending. The Booking Form attached can be used
to book a place on any of these courses or Telephone
the Training Team on 01225 394426.

Cancellation Policy
Booking on to training indicates a commitment to attend the
complete course or conference and agreement with the terms of this
cancellation policy.
If we cancel a course
We will endeavour to only cancel a course if the numbers
applying are so small as to make the event unworkable. You
will be notified as early as possible.
If you have to cancel
No fee will be charged for cancellations in writing
received up to two weeks prior to the course dates. It is
possible to transfer a delegate’s place to a colleague if they are
unable to attend, provided that the Early Years Foundation Stage
Team is informed of the substitution before the day of the
course. For all cancellations received with less than two
weeks notice the full cost of the course will charged or a minimum
cancellation fee of £15.
No shows
If a delegate does not turn up on the day without prior
notification to Early Years Foundation Stage Team, the setting or
childminder will be charged the full delegate fee if there is
one. If the course is being run as a ‘free’ course the charge
will be £15.

Funding towards Qualifications
Each year there is limited funding available to help
practitioners with the cost of gaining a qualification acceptable
under the National Day Care Standards. To be eligible to
receive funding applicants must be in paid or voluntary work in
Bath and North East Somerset:
- in an early years setting
- in the foundation stage in a school
- in an out of school club/holiday playscheme
- working as a childminder.
Before making an application for funding, applicants must
consider whether they are committed to completing the
qualification. Bath and North East Somerset Early Years
Childcare and Play Team will reclaim any funding from those who
fail to complete their course. Applicants need to consider
the number of hours each week that are needed for study and whether
the necessary commitment can be made.
