Free School Meals

You will be entitled to claim free school meals for your child/children if you are in receipt of one of the following benefits:

  • Income Support
  • Income Based Jobseekers Allowance
  • Income Related Employment Support Allowance
  • Support under part VI of the Immigration and Asylum Act 1999
  • Child Tax Credit, provided you are not entitled to Working Tax Credit, and have an annual income (as assessed by the Inland Revenue) that does not exceed £15,575
  • Guarantee Element of State Pension Credit

To apply for free school meals, either contact the Local Authority in whose area your child's school is situated to request an application form or download and print off the attached application form. When you send in your application you will also need to provide confirmation that you are in receipt of one of the benefits above.
