St Keyna Primary School
A New School for Keynsham
Updated June 2008
The Answers Project, now known as St Keyna School, is the
creation of a new primary school for Keynsham. The new school
building was completed in February and, following fitting
out, staff and pupils moved in on Monday 2nd June.
The new school, which is located on Charlton Road, is
innovative in its design and gives maximum flexibility for the
children and staff. The school now provides places for nearly
240 children, with this number settling back to 210 in future
years. St Keyna incorporates a nursery class, as well as
being an extended school, providing a breakfast and after
school club, in addition to being available for use by the local
community.
The contractor, Kier Western Construction, is now
progressing the second phase of the project, the demolition of
the old school and the creation of a new football
field. The whole project will be complete by
autumn 2008.
