The Children Missing Education Service

Child Protection

In line with the Local Safeguarding Children's Board protocols and procedures, the Children Missing Education Service (CMES) contributes to the protection and safeguarding of children and young people from abuse and exploitation.

The CMES:

  • Receives and evaluates concerns on child protection from school staff and others.
  • Works with other services as required.
  • Contributes to assessments and case conferences about children in need of protection.
  • Provides training, advice and support to schools on child protection issues.
