The electoral register is a list of all the people entitled to
vote.
Every autumn your local council canvasses all the properties within
the district by sending an electoral registration form to every
home. As a result of the information obtained, a revised copy
of the electoral register is published by 1 December every year.
However, it is possible to register throughout the year, as the
register is updated monthly.
To request a registration form, please contact Bath & North
East Somerset Electoral Services (contact details below).
Alternatively, a registration form is available for downloading to
the right of this text.
There are two versions of the electoral register. The full
version and the edited version.
The full register lists the name and address of everyone who is
registered to vote. The main use of the full register is to show
who can vote in elections and referendums. Credit reference
agencies can use it, but only to check your name and address if you
are applying for credit. It can also be used for law enforcement.
The full register is available for inspection in the Electoral
Services Office at the Guildhall, Bath.
The edited register is available for general sale and can be used
for any purpose. It can be bought by any person, company or
organisation and can be used for commercial activities such as
marketing. If you want to opt out of having your details appear on
the edited register, please indicate this on your registration
form. The edited register is available for inspection in libraries
and council reception offices at:-
The Hollies, Midsomer Norton
Riverside, Keynsham
Keynsham Town Hall
