Level 5 Consultations

This is where the Council supports stakeholders to achieve common goals.  For example, by providing the resources to set up campaigns or by allocating a budget to a community for them to commit to projects that they feel is particularly relevant to them.  The Council is increasingly being encouraged to support community initiatives in this way, particularly through e-democracy.

It is appropriate to support stakeholder initiatives in this way where there is sufficient interest or commitment in a community for forming an initiative, and where the Council feels that its support is appropriate.  Currently this is being piloted through a Local Area Committee in South Bath. 

Methods may include setting up development trusts, workshops, business planning exercises, team building exercises, and offering advice and support.
