Youth work contributions to the five Every Child Matters outcomes in Bath & North East Somerset

The five Key Outcomes for young people within Every Child Matters are:

  • Being healthy
  • Staying safe
  • Enjoying and achieving
  • Making a positive contribution
  • Achieving economic well being 

The Youth Service in Bath & North East Somerset Council is working to support the five Every Child Matters outcomes through quality, well resourced youth work to support young people.

The Service uses partnership links to work more effectively with  young people to enable them to gain skills, knowledge and understanding to help them negotiate their way through life.The Youth Service in Bath & North East Somerset provides both universal and targeted opportunities

  • within dedicated youth work buildings
  • on the streets with detached youth work
  • in partnership with the Voluntary Youth Sector
  • in schools  and
  • with mobile youth provision.

The Service supports young people by providing a curriculum framework delivered by professionally trained youth workers.
