Sustainable Community Strategy
The Sustainable Community Strategy and Local Strategic
Partnership in Bath and North East Somerset
Sustainable Community Strategies are designed to
improve the quality of life in local communities.
Sustainable Community Strategies must be drawn up by engaging
local communities and involving partner organisations. The
Bath and North East Somerset Local Strategic
Partnership (LSP) was formed in June 2002 to undertake this
work. It is made up of public services such as the Council, the
Police, the Bath and North East Somerset Primary Care Trust,
Town and Parish Councils as well as voluntary, community,
and business sector representatives. The LSP is currently
chaired by Cllr Francine Haeberling, representing Bath &
North East Somerset Council.
Bath and North East Somerset's Community
Strategy is a 10-year strategy
and contains clear ambitions to promote the social,
economic and environmental well-being of our
area. It highlights 42 specific actions
that are now being implemented by the Council
and partner organisations.
