Disabled Children and Children with a Special Educational Need (SEN)

These needs could range from sensory impairment and physical disability, to learning difficulties and behavioural problems. The Family Information Service hold information on local and national voluntary support groups and useful contacts, with web site addresses. We also have a Development Worker for families with a disabled child/children or a child/children with a special educational need (SEN). The Development Worker can help with any questions you might have. She produces The Link Newsletter three times a year which contains useful information and local news updates on activities and projects in the Bath & North East Somerset area.

We also have available The Rainbow Resource, an easy-to-access directory of services for children with additional needs. It contains information on health, education, transport, leisure, benefits advice, careers and employment, practical help and support available. To view a copy, please see the PDF version under Related Documents.

For more information please contact Mary-Jane Middlehurst, Development Worker for Disabled Children and their Families on 01225 394503 or email Mary-Jane_Middlehurst@bathnes.gov.uk
