Licensing Act 2003
Statement of Licensing Policy
40 How complaints will be dealt with
40.1 The Licensing Authority will investigate
complaints against licensed premises with regard to matters
relating to the four licensing objectives. In the first instance,
complainants are encouraged to raise the complaint directly with
the licence holder or business concerned to seek a local
resolution.
40.2 Where an interested party (such as a local
resident or residents’ association) has made:
- valid representations about licensed premises, or
- a valid application for a licence to be reviewed
the Licensing Authority encourages parties to arrange a
conciliation meeting to address and clarify the issues of concern
where practicable.
40.3 Nothing in this Policy shall restrict the right
of an interested party or responsible authority to call for a
review of a licence or make relevant representations in accordance
with the Act.
