Interested Parties
What is an Interested Party?
An Interested Party is one of the following who can make a
representation to the Council:
- people living in the vicinity of the premises;
- a body representing persons who live in the vicinity;
- a person involved in a business in the vicintiy; or
- a body representing persons involved in such a
business.
Interested Parties are entitled to make representations on
applications for new premises licences/club certificates or
major variations of existing licences/certificates. They can
also ask the Council to review a licence/certificate. A
representative can be nominated to act on their behalf, for example
a solicitor, friend, local ward councillor etc.
All applications are based on the four licensing objectives:
- the prevention of crime and disorder,
- public safety,
- prevention of public nuisance, and
- the protection of children from harm.
