Council Tax is normally payable by 10 monthly instalments.
Payments are due by the 1st of each month beginning in April and
ending by 1st January the following year. A full list of the
methods of payment that the Council can accept is on the back of
your bill.
You should note that unless you pay by direct debit it is not
acceptable to make payments later than the 1st of each month and
recovery action will be taken if you are late in making your
payment. This may result in you having your instalment rights
withdrawn and being charged additional costs
Unless you pay by direct debit, where you have a choice of 2
payment dates in the month, all instalments are due by the 1st of
the month. The choice of dates available for direct debit payments
are the 1st and 15th of each month.
The amount that you need to pay each month and your chosen
method of payment will be shown at the bottom of your bill under
the heading "Instalment Details".
If your bill is sent to you part way through the year, your
instalment payments will start in the following month providing we
can give you at least 14 days notice before your first payment is
due. If we cannot give you 14 days notice then your first payment
will not be due until the 2nd month after your bill is issued.
If you would like to set up or change your current method to pay
by Direct Debit or to request a Post Office payment card, please

Other acceptable payment methods are shown on the back of your
bill. Please note cash payments are now only accepted through cash
machines at Council Connect local offices.
