Local Housing Allowance Rates
What you might be entitled to
These LHA rates will be used to calculate the
maximum amount of
Housing Benefit that you may be entitled to. The rates
will be updated each month on this page and are also available at
our
Council
Connect offices.
Step 1
First you will need to know how many bedrooms will be
used to work out your LHA rate and which rate
(
called a BRMA) will apply to you, depending on where you
live.
Visit the Rent Services LHA calculator. When you
enter the site you will need click Find your LHA and then tick the
box to confirm you have understood the Terms & Conditions to
use the Bedroom Calculator.
Step 2
Return to this webpage and note the rate which applies to you
from the table below. You can now enter this
into the Benefits Calculator, along with all the other
information requested. This will give you an approximate
guide as to how much Housing Benefit you could qualify
for.
Weekly LHA rates for September 2008
The Rent Service issues this flat-rate rent
allowance on a monthly basis.
Room categories relate to the number of bedrooms your household
needs. Please note the Rent Officer only considers number of
bedrooms, we no longer consider living rooms etc.
