Foot & Mouth Disease
Local B&NES situation
There are no confirmed or suspected cases of Foot &
Mouth Disease at any locations within B&NES or neighbouring
Authorities.
Restrictions put in force following the outbreak of Foot
& Mouth Disease on a farm in Surrey were lifted and the
threat considered 'eradicated' on 8th September 2007.
A second outbreak was confirmed on 12th September at a farm in
Surrey.

There have been no suspected or confirmed cases in B&NES or
the neighbouring Authorities.
The Emergency Management Unit will continue to monitor any
situation which might affect B&NES residents and business and
post any locally relevant advice or information as necessary.
BLUETONGUE
At 5th October 2007 55 premises have confirmed infection of
Bluetongue. All are within the established Bluetongue control
zone.
