Secure Homes Initiative Grants
A Joint Initiative by Bath and North East Somerset Council
and Avon and Somerset Constabulary
Working together to make your home safer
The Secure Homes Initiative is a grant that offers financial
assistance to carry out security work to homes.
For example:- window/door locks, security lighting
The grants are targeted at those who are elderly, have been
victims of domestic violence, or who are considered to be otherwise
vulnerable.
Grants are available to owner-occupiers and specified types of
private tenants who are in receipt of one of these
benefits:
- Income Support
- Income-Based Job Seekers Allowance
- Council Tax Benefit
How to apply:
We will visit you and assess your home’s security needs. We will
then send you an application form and a schedule of works, together
with a list of contractors.
All you need to do is submit a completed application form,
together with two estimates, using the contractor’s list.
Additional assistance can also be provided by Care and Repair in
Bath & North East Somerset who will obtain estimates and
organise contractors on your behalf.
