How are we doing?
Homesearch newsletter
The number of households on Homesearch is still increasing by an average
of 45 a week. We now have over 6140 applications on the
register.
During the last 3 months, we have housed 106 households, an
average of 8 households each week. 72 of these moved into
general needs housing and 34 into sheltered accommodation for older
people.
The majority of applications are in Group C (4565) and at
the moment people in this Group are usually waiting more than 5
years before being housed.
Number of Homes Advertised
The number of homes the Housing Associations have advertised on
our Homesearch website between July and September
has averaged approximately 10 a week with over a
third of these properties being sheltered flats and bungalows for
older people.
There has been a shortage of properties in the Keynsham and
Weston areas recently. This is because Somer Community Housing
Trust has had to retain properties as they become available in
order to re-house their existing tenants who have been displaced
due to essential building work.
This has contributed to a shortage of larger propertiess
In all we have been able to advertise 127 properties between
July and September 2008
