Quarterly homelessness reports
Key Statistics
These reports are compiled from figures submitted
to Communities and Local Government via the quarterly PIE
homelessness returns.
The second quarter report for 08/09 shows 60%
of homeless applications made were accepted as eligible,
unintentionally homeless and in priority need.
Of those accepted, 52.7% had dependent children or
were pregnant.
The main reasons for loss of settled home included parents/other
family members or friends no longer willing to accomodate and loss
of an Assured Shorthold Tenancy.
The number of households in temporary accomodation was 64 at the
end of September 2008. The trend remains the
same over the last 3 years.
