Council housing is often known as social housing and can be
provided by the local authority or Registered Social
Landlords.
Bath and North East Somerset Council no longer own any housing
stock as we transferred all our stock to Somer Community Housing
Trust in 1999.
Since that time the Council has worked in partnership with a
number of Registered Social Landlords to provide
affordable housing.
Social housing is in great demand and there is a shortage of
properties to rent through Homesearch, to explore other ways of finding a home
please see housing
options.
Homesearch is Bath & North East
Somerset Council’s way of allocating social housing. The
Homesearch Team administers the waiting list for social housing in
the Bath and North East Somerset area. If you would like
to apply for social housing please visit www.homesearchbathnes.org.uk
and complete an online application form. Alternatively, you can
request a paper form or speak with a member of the Homesearch Team
by ringing 01225 396118.
